Пазителят на града

Безмилостен убиец вилнее и се саморазправя с изявени ганкстерски лидери в Чикаго. Той е смел, хладнокръвен, брутален и бдителен... и много скоро става общоизвестен герой. Следват едно след друго жестоки убийства, но убиецът лесно се изплъзва от ноктите на Чикагската полиция. Случаят е възложен на детектив Джеймс Дела / Луис Госет - младши/. Той разбира, че въпрос на време е психично болният професионален убиец да разруши общественото му доверие и да го направи жертва на тълпата. Дела трябва да се пребори с пресата, с обществото и с един въоръжен маниак, за да въстанови законността, реда и сигурността в Чикаго.
